BOAT LAUNCH PHASE 2 COMPLETE – THE RAMP IS OPEN!
The final work on Phase 2 of the Boat Launch Upgrade project is now complete and the launch is again open to the public, just in time for the Paul Bentley Memorial Fishing Tournament.
A soft opening of the launch was held today (July 22, 2016) at 4:30 pm. Grant funder representative from Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) CEO Janine North, and members of the Village Council were in attendance to watch Billy Yovanovich, Chief Councillor of Skidegate Band Council launch the first boat from the new ramp.
The Council and staff of the Village of Queen Charlotte would like to express appreciation and thanks to everyone who has shown an interest in this project, and in particular to the following individuals and organizations:

Our Project Team: Cord MacLean, Project Engineer, Skyline Engineering; Stan MacLean, Owner, Berg-Mac Industries; Curby Holdershaw; Ben Greenough, Superintendent of Public Works, and the Public Works team Arden Olson and Wally Pelton.
Our Project Partners: BC Ferries Corporation for the use of the Kwuna Ramp during construction.
The next phase of the Boat Launch Upgrade project will focus on the floating dock structure and other safety improvements.
